Help on adding KLIOS as a search engine for your web browser

KLIOS allows to do a semantic search and so you can set KLIOS as Search Engine in your Browser.

Instructions

MOZILLA-FIREFOX 

  • Open Mozilla Firefox and type in the address bar about:config.
  • Next type keyword.URL in the Filter box which is appeared after the first step is completed successfully.
  • Now right click that single entry and select modify. A box will appear. Refer the image given below.
  • Choose your Search Engine type and accordingly enter the string value of KLIOS: 

https://klios.ct.infn.it/kliosSearch1-portlet/SearchKLIOS?type=normal&keyword=

  • After that, you can use the address bar to do a semantic search in KLIOS.

 

GOOGLE CHROME 

  • Select Settings from     .
  • Click on Manage search engines

  •  Add new Search Engine with the follow URL:

 https://klios.ct.infn.it/kliosSearch1-portlet/SearchKLIOS?type=normal&keyword=%s

  • And, if you want, can make default it.

  • After that, you can use the address bar to do a semantic search in KLIOS.

 

INTERNET EXPLORER 7+ 

  • Go to the follow address: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/searchbuilder.asp.
  • In the Section Build a Search Provider now..., insert the follow URL: 

https://klios.ct.infn.it/kliosSearch1-portlet/SearchKLIOS?type=normal&keyword=TEST

  • and choose a name.

  • Click on Install.
  • After that, click on the arrow to search using the provider KLIOS:

 

 

SAFARI

  • Download and Install the plug-in GLIMS

http://www.machangout.com/

  • From Safari's Preferences, select GLIMS and in Search Engines List, click on the button Add to Add the new Search engine, as shown below

  • After that, clicking on the arrow in the search bar, you can find the KLIOS Search Engine.

 

OPERA

  • Click on the arrow in the search bar and select Manage Search Engines:

  • Add new Search Engine with the follow Address:

 https://klios.ct.infn.it/kliosSearch1-portlet/SearchKLIOS?type=normal&keyword=%s

  • and choose a keyword and a name.
  • After that, clicking on the arrow in the search bar, you can find the KLIOS Search Engine
